Get tips on growing your business.
It can be easy to rely on your current client list to give you business, but sometimes you need to reach out to new clientele. Reaching out to new clients can sometimes feel intimidating and overwhelming, but we’ve gathered eight tips to help make the process as easy as possible.
1. Re-engage Old Clients
Remind your old clients who you are! Reach out to them with a holiday greeting, an invitation to an event you’re hosting, or just a note to say hi. Congratulate your past clients on milestones for how long they’ve lived in their current home, and use it as a way to remind them of your name for when they are ready to sell the house and move on to their next one.
2. Talk to People Selling for Themselves
Many homes sold by the owners directly stay on the market for longer than desired. If a home is for sale by owner and has been on the market for a while, reach out to see if they would be interested in working with you. Your expertise will help their house sell quickly, which is one of the most significant benefits of working with an agent.
“Staying connected to the community is a great way to build new connections, strengthen old ones, and grow trust all around.”
3. Use Our List Manager
One of the easiest ways to reach more clients in your farm and new areas is using our List Manager. You can use our List Manager when creating direct mail marketing pieces in our online portal for no additional charge.
These tools will allow you to quickly expand your market reach and get in touch with new clients.
4. Network, Network, Network
Of course, networking is one of the most effective ways to generate leads. Attending events for professionals in your area, whether they are real estate specific or not, will help you connect with more clients.
But, in-person isn’t the only way to network. Consider joining groups for professionals on Facebook and LinkedIn, and post on your pages regularly. This way, when people go looking for agents, they will be able to find your services.
5. Embrace the Seasons
A unique way to generate leads is by embracing the seasons and providing a treat to potential clients when you pass out flyers or door hangers. Candy canes are great for the winter months, as are hot chocolate kits. Fall shaped treats or miniature pumpkins are great for autumn, and seed packets can be fun for warmer seasons. People will remember you as the agent who sent a treat, which is a unique way to connect.
“Networking will keep you up to date with your industry so you can stay at the top of your game.”
6. Engage the Community
Becoming a well-known name in the community will do wonders for your business. Try some of the following ideas to stay active in the area.
- Hold your meetings at local restaurants and coffee shops.
- Attend community events, like block parties, farmers’ markets, concerts, and holiday gatherings.
- Sponsor an event to get to know the community.
When the community knows who you are, they will know who to come to when they are looking to sell their house or buy a new one.
7. Don’t Forget to Advertise
It can be easy to overlook social media or newspapers, but they are a great way to advertise your business. Take out a regular ad in a local magazine or newspaper, and create targeted ads on social media. Ads are a great way to get your name out there and connect with people you may not have crossed paths with otherwise.
8. Be Kind and Personable
Being kind and personable is a great way to increase trust and encourage people to work with you in the future. If people know you as someone they can trust and rely on, they will recognize you as a great option to help them sell their home when the time is right. Building those strong relationships ahead of time will help you in the long run.
