9 WAYS TO HOST A SOCIALLY-DISTANT OPEN HOUSE

If you’re starting to venture back into holding in-person open houses, there are a few ways you can make them safer and more comfortable for you and your clients. Keeping doors open, wearing masks, and providing hand sanitizer are some pretty typical suggestions, but we’ve thought of some other tips to help you ease back into things!

1. Stay up to date with local regulations

Local laws and regulations on how to host a socially-distant open house change frequently. Make sure you stay up to date with what’s allowed, recommended for safety precautions, and the number of people allowed at gatherings.

2. Keep an open dialogue

Make sure you keep an open dialogue with your brokerage and your clients to make sure you can continue working safely. Be able to answer questions clients may have about how you are working to reduce risk at your socially-distant open house showings.

3. Open windows

Keeping the windows open in a home is a great way to circulate air!

"Encourage your clients to wash their hands during the socially-ditant open house and ask them to limit touching surfaces and items in the home."

4. Offer handwashing stations

Show off the kitchen and bathrooms in a home by setting up handwashing stations! Having people wash their hands throughout the tour will help keep people healthy and reduce the spread of germs.

5. Temperature checks

If you can, temperature check people before they enter the socially-distant open house.

6. A pre-planned route

To avoid too many people in one room or tight hallway at a time, create a pre-planned path for everyone to follow! This will keep people moving and allow them to tour the house without running into other people.

7. Viewing appointments

You can always set up different times for families to visit homes. This will allow you to keep track of who has visited and limit the number of people in the house at any one time!
