Keep it Cozy This Winter

Tips for cozy staging (and living) this winter.

As we continue to spend most of our time at home, cozy spaces will be in high demand this winter. Whether in the properties you stage for work or in your own home, take some time to embrace comfy styles and help make spaces more inviting. We’ve gathered 5 tips on how easily make your spaces cozier.

1. Embrace Color

Sunny yellows, rich reds, bright oranges, deep purples, and even forest greens can be the pop of color your rooms need to feel cozier. Try painting an accent wall or a simple DIY mural, or add some artwork, throw pillows, or blankets to bring in more color.

2. Soft Features

Speaking of textiles, pillows, blankets, and rugs are great ways to help your space feel warmer. They help insulate your home, keep you warm and invoke a sense of comfort. Consider investing in throw pillows with fun textures like crushed velvet or corduroy, and look for blankets in a chunky knit or soft fleece. If you’re feeling adventurous, try layering rugs for a modern and warm way to boost the energy in your rooms.

3. Lighten Up

With the sun setting earlier and earlier, turning on some extra lights is an excellent way to warm up your home. A cozy way to bring in layered lighting is by burning some candles. The flickering light warms your space while filling your home with comforting scents.

4. Plants and Greenery

Plants and greenery help bring the outdoors in, and when there isn’t much blooming outside, they are a welcome addition to your home. Do some research on how much light the rooms in your home get. When you purchase plants, you can be sure to buy ones that will thrive. If you have pets, make sure to get pet-friendly plants. If you don’t have much of a green thumb, look into fake plants or dried flowers or pick up a simple bouquet at the store. These are great options that don’t require any work and give the same effect.
